Mulberry Grove Drops to 0-2 With Loss to Carlyle


Mulberry Grove softball was held to just a single hit as they suffered a 21-2 loss to Carlyle at home on Wednesday. The Lady Indians took control of the game early with a 12-run first inning and went up 18-0 by the end of the second inning. One more run in the top of the third and another two in the top of the fourth had the Lady Aces trailing 21-0. They scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning when Adalynn Lawrence doubled to right field to bring in Lillabelle Kelley to score from second base to make it 21-1. With runners on second and third with just one out, Mulberry Grove struck out twice to end the inning and to end the game as the Lady Aces suffered the 21-1 loss. Mulberry Grove is 0-2 to start the season and will have the next week off before returning to action on March 26 on the road at Hillsboro.
