Altamont Lutheran 7th Grade Volleyball Headed to IESA 7-1A State Tournament

The Altamont Lutheran Interparish School (ALIS) Rockets seventh grade volleyball team is headed to the IESA 7-1A State Tournament this weekend after capturing the Sectional Championship on Monday evening. ALIS was a two set winner over Windsor 25-10, 25-12 to earn their spot at State. To get to the Sectional match, the Rockets got two set wins over Effingham Sacred Heart and Newton St. Thomas in the regional quarterfinals and semifinals before winning the regional championship over West Salem in three sets 19-25, 25-14, 25-22. ALIS heads into the 7-1A State Tournament at Clinton Jr. High School with a 17-3 record and will take on Decatur Unity (21-5) on Friday at 7:00pm in the third quarterfinal game. The winner of that game will move into the second semifinal match on Saturday at 12:15pm to take on the winner of the quarterfinal match between Hartsburg-Emden and Carrollton St. John.
