The Vandalia girls track team got their season underway on Friday and the boys competed in their second meet of the season on Saturday as part of the Central Illinois High School Invitational hosted by Eastern Illinois University on Friday and Saturday. In the girls meet, senior Hannah Brown took third place in the Shot Put for their lone top 10 finish. In the boys meet, the Vandals grabbed three top 10 finishes with senior Kohnor Depew taking eighth in the 60m dash, Sam Bowers taking eight in the 60m Hurdles and the 4×200 relay team of Depew, Bowers, Jordan Colburn and Jayden Hubler-Rench taking ninth place. The teams will have a couple weeks off before beginning their outdoor schedule on March 24 at Carlinville.
