CHBC girls basketball played Pana close, but eight and six point advantages by the Panthers in the second and fourth quarters put the game enough out of reach that the Lady Bobcats couldn’t catch up in a 74-55 loss at home on Tuesday. CHBC was outscored 20-15 in the first quarter but a 21-13 Pana run in the second had the Bobcats trailing the Panthers 41-28 at halftime. The third quarter was an even battle with each team putting up 15 points as they CHBC deficit stayed at 13 points, as they trailed 56-43 heading to the fourth quarter. The Bobcats were outscored 18-12 in the closing minutes as they suffered the 74-55 loss. CHBC drops to 6-20 on the season and they will play their last regular season game on Thursday at home as they will host Ramsey-Mulberry Grove for an Egyptian Illini Conference matchup.
