St. Elmo-Brownstown and South Central met up for the third time this season on Friday night with this matchup counting for the National Trail Conference standings and SEB picked up the win, 70-42, over the Cougars in Farina. The first quarter proved to be a tight battle picking up where their last meeting left off at and the host Cougars took a slim lead, 17-16. SEB started to make their move in the second quarter, outscoring South Central 21-9 to take a 37-26 lead at halftime. The Eagles big run continued into the third quarter, as they held the Cougars to six points while putting up 20 of their own as their lead built up to 57-32 by the end of the quarter. South Central got back into double digit scoring in the fourth quarter, but SEB outscored them 13-10 to close out the 70-42 win. SEB improves to 13-12 overall on the season and to 2-5 in the NTC. After having the weekend off, they will be back at home on Tuesday to face Sandoval. South Central drops to 8-18 on the season and will next play on Tuesday at home as they host St. Anthony in NTC action.
