Altamont's Lurkins and Cowden-Herrick's Cosart Named NTC Scholarship Winners, Individual School Nominees Honored


Twenty-six athletes from National Trail Conference member schools were honored on Saturday night during halftime of the Boys NTC Tournament Championship game while two of those honorees were recognized as this year’s NTC Scholarship winners. Each year, member schools choose one male and one female scholar athlete to be honored by the NTC and from the 26 honorees, one male and one female are chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship. This year’s scholarship winners are August Cosart of Cowden-Herrick and Kaylee Lurkins of Altamont.

2025-2026 NTC Scholar Athlete Honorees:

Altamont – Kaylee Lurkins and Kade Milleville

Beecher City – Rebecca Macklin and Gage Hart

Brownstown – Alivia Claycomb and Lucas Powell

Cowden-Herrick – Timber Watson and August Cosart

Cumberland – Hannah Shoemaker and Austin Becker

Dieterich – Callie Faller and Trevor Crutcher

Neoga – Emily Frankie and Cole Margenthaler

North Clay – Faith Jones and Kade Atwood

St. Anthony – Lillianne Gannaway and Aiden Lauritzen

St. Elmo – Leila Wright and Keelan Speagle

South Central – Lauren Johnson and Logan Byers

Stew-Stras – Brinlie Durbin and Tyler Vonderheide

Windsor – Cameron Carey and Seth Rincker
