SEB Pulls Away From Mulberry Grove in First Half for Big EIC Win

St. Elmo-Brownstown held Mulberry Grove to just 10 first half points as the Eagles rode the early lead to a 57-31 win over the Aces in Egyptian Illini Conference action on Friday night. SEB used an 18-5 first quarter run and a 16-5 second quarter run to take a 34-10 lead by halftime. Play would be even in the second half though as the Eagles just outscored the Aces 13-12 in the third quarter and 10-9 in the fourth quarter, but their first quarter lead was more than enough to give SEB the big win, 57-31. The Eagles are now 11-10 on the season and 3-0 in the EIC. They begin play in the National Trail Conference Tournament at Altamont on Monday at 7:45pm against South Central. Mulberry Grove drops to 4-13 on the season and to 2-2 in the EIC. They were set to play to East Alton Wood River this morning, but due to the forecasted weather, that game has been cancelled for today.
