Brynn Swyers placed second ay 170lbs while Briley Sefton, Aydia White and Marlee Carroll did not place as the Lady Vandals wrestlers competed at the 619 Scramble in Edwardsville on Tuesday night. At 170lbs, Swyers went had a first round BYE and then got quick wins by Fall in 19 second and 1:44 in the Quarterfinals and Semifinals before suffering a loss by Fall in the title bout to Kira Thompson of O’Fallon to take second place. Also at 170lbs, Carroll picked up a First Round win by Fall in 1:55 before losing to the eventual Champion Thompson by Fall in 26 second in the Quarterfinals, She then got a win by Fall in 2:11 in the First Consolation round before suffering a loss by Fall in 39 seconds in the Second Consolation round to finish the evening 2-2. At 145lbs, White had a First Round BYE but then took a loss by Fall in 4:33 in the Quarterfinals to drop into the Consolation bracket where she got a win by Fall in 1:28 in the First Round but took a loss by Fall in 1:23 in the second Consolation round to finish the evening 2-2. At 115lbs, Sefton lost by Tech Fall in 4:38 in the First Round before suffering a loss by Fall in 2:38 in her first Consolation bout to finish the night at 0-2. The girls will only be out of action for a few days before they compete in the Anna-Jonesboro Tournament this Saturday.
