The Vandalia Lady Vandals struggled with turnovers on Monday afternoon, and could not hang on, falling to the Salem Lady Wildcats 68-50 on Monday in their first game of the Vandalia Midwinter Tournament. Salem came out firing in the first quarter, outscoring Vandalia 21-13, before going on a 19-10 run to enter halftime with a 40-23 lead. The Lady Vandals would be outscored by the Lady Wildcats 18-12, and entered the fourth quarter trailing 58-35. Vandalia would outscore Salem 15-10 in the fourth quarter, but the deficit was too much to overcome, as they would fall to Salem 68-50. The loss drops the Lady Vandals to 7-15 on the season. The Lady Vandals will be back in action on Thursday to take on Greenville in the Consolation side of the bracket.
