
Third-seeded Brownstown-St. Elmo girls basketball is into the semifinals of the National Trail Conference Tournament after getting a quarterfinal win over #6 seed North Clay 53-38 on Monday afternoon.
The Bombers got off to a slow start offensively, before getting things going late in the first quarter, taking a 14-8 lead by the end of the first. However the Bombers cooled off again to start the second quarter and were outscored by North Clay in the quarter 13-10, and held just a slim 24-21 lead at halftime.
The third quarter made the difference in the game as BSE put up 21 in the period as Olivia Campbell got on a hot streak and hit a a trio of three-pointers as well as a pair of buckets to pace the Bombers as they pushed their lead to 45-30 to start the fourth and hold on for the 53-38 win.

BSE is now 15-7 on the season. They advance to the semifinals where they will play #2 seed CHBC Thursday at 8:30pm.
