The St. Elmo/Brownstown Eagles got back in the win column on Friday night, coming away with a 42-41 win over the Patoka-Odin Warriors in EI play. The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair, with the Warriors holding a 17-16 lead. Points were hard to come by in the second quarter, but SEB would use a 13-4 scoring advantage to take a 29-21 halftime lead. Patoka-Odin would begin to chip away at the deficit, outscoring the Eagles 13-6, but SEB would still hold a 35-34 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Eagles would put on a defensive clinic in the fourth quarter, holding the Warriors to 7 points, and a three-pointer and a layup from Benji Lowe, a basket from Jayden Hughett, the Eagles would come away with the 42-41 win. The win improves SEB to 9-9 on the season, and 1-0 in EIC play. The Eagles will be on the road Tuesday for another EIC matchup with Martinsville.
