CHBC Rides Early Lead to NTC Win Over North Clay


Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City overcame a rough third quarter and picked up their second National Trail Conference win of the season beating North Clay, 33-21, at home on Monday. The Lady Bobcats got their offense going early with four starters getting in on the scoring led by Lena Bowlin with six points as CHBC led 16-5 at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Bobcats scoring slowed in the second quarter but they were able to outscore the Cardinals 8-7 in the quarter with four points from Ryleigh Sarver to maintain a 24-12 lead at halftime. The third quarter proved to be rough on both teams as both CHBC and North Clay scored just two points in the frame and the Lady Bobcats continued to lead 26-14. CHBC and North Clay played even in the fourth quarter bit adding seven more points to the scoreboard as the Lady Bobcats finished off the 33-21 win. CHBC moves to 3-13 on the season and to 2-4 in the NTC. They will be back in action on Wednesday at Macon Meridian.
