CHBC fought hard for 36 minutes, but came up just short as they lost a heartbreaker against Shelbyville, 58-56, in overtime on Tuesday night at Beecher City. The game was close from the opening tip as the Bobcats trailed 11-10 at the end of the first quarter. With each team tacking another 10 points on the scoreboard in the second quarter, the Bobcats continued to trail by the slimmest margin, 21-20. The Bobcats were able to get a little momentum and outscored the Rams 18-15 in the third quarter in order to take a 38-36 lead to end the third quarter. Shelbyville was able to get those two points back though and the game was tied 48-48 at the end of regulation with another four minutes going up on the clock for overtime. Despite five points from Griffin Vaughn and a big three-pointer from Clive Schlanser in the overtime period, the game would be tied at 56-56 when Shelbyville hit a shot at the buzzer and the Bobcats came up just short as Shelbyville edge out the 58-56 win over CHBC. The Bobcats are now 6-9 on the season and they will have another tough matchup on Friday, this one being on the road, as they travel to Louisville to take on North Clay.
