The Altamont Lady Indians have now won four straight National Trail Conference games after they beat Windsor/Stew-Stras 68-31 in conference action on Monday night. The Lady Indians stormed out to a big start, outscoring the Hatchets 23-10 in the first quarter behind seven points from Ada Roberts and six each from Alyssa Ruholl and Ella Nelson. Altamont’s scoring was slowed a bit in the second, but a 16-12 run including six more points from Nelson on a pair of three-pointers put Altamont up 39-24 at halftime. The Lady Indians were held to their lowest scoring total for a quarter in the third but put up 12 points, four coming from Kennedi Schultz and four from Roberts, while holding WSS to six points as they pushed their lead out to 51-30 by the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter saw several Altamont players come off the bench and get their selves in the scoring column while holding the Hatchets to just one point on a free throw as that 17-1 run put the game well out of reach and gave Altamont the 68-31 win. After starting conference play with a loss a month ago, the Lady Indians have won their last four conference games in a row to get to 4-1 in the NTC while they are now 8-6 overall on the season. Altamont will be back in action on their home court on Thursday as they have a chance to make it five conference wins in a row when they host South Central.
