Vandalia girls basketball rebounded from some tough losses in pool play to beat South Central Conference rival Greenville 46-41 in their final game of pool play at the Christ Our Rock Lutheran Winterfest Tournament on Tuesday. The win is the Lady Vandals fourth win of the year as they are now 4-10 on the season and the win sends them into the New Year with some momentum as they will be back at home on Monday to take on a tough Brownstown-St. Elmo team.
Meanwhile, senior guard Ollie Whitehead was named to the All-Tournament Team. During the tournament, Whitehead amassed 64 points (16 ppg), 22 rebounds, 19 assists and 8 steals across the Lady Vandals four tournament games with her tournament highs for points, rebounds and assists coming in the game against Sandoval when Whitehead had 20 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals.
