Altamont Falls to Waltonville in Sesser Vallier Semifinals

The Altmont Indians battled for all 32 minuets, but came up short against the top seeded Waltonville Spartans, falling 52-47 in the semifinals of the Sesser Vallier Holiday Tournament. Parker Bell opened up the scoring for the Indians with a layup to give Altamont an early 2-0 lead, but the Spartans would go on a 17-8 run to close out the quarter with a 17-10 lead. Both teams would trade baskets in the second quarter, but Altamont would narrowly outscore Waltonville 15-14, but would find themselves behind 31-25 at halftime. The third quarter would continue to be tightly fought, with the Indians outscoring the Spartans 17-14, to enter the fourth quarter trailing 45-42. Points would be hard to come by in the fourth quarter, as Altamont would be held to just 5 points in the quarter, both coming from Cooper McManaway, but the Spartans would be able to put the game away with a three-pointer, and as well as a pair of free throws to secure the 52-47 win.
