Mulberry Grove met Father McGivney for the second time this season and suffered a 67-34 loss at home to the Griffins on Friday night. The Aces got off to a slow start, being held to just four points in the first quarter, trailing 16-4 to start the second and found themselves down 37-11 at halftime. Mulberry Grove picked things up after halftime and outscored the Griffins 15-12 in the third quarter but were only able to cut the Father McGivney lead down to 49-26. The Griffins would then use an 18-8 run through the fourth quarter as they closed out the game and the Aces suffered the 67-31 loss. The Aces drop to 1-6 on the season and will begin play in the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament on Tuesday where they face Hillsboro in the tournament’s first game at 6:15pm.
