Altamont girls basketball struggled to score in the third quarter and that hindered the momentum the Lady Indians had gained in the second quarter as they would suffer a tough six point loss to undefeated Nokomis 43-37 on Thursday night. After being outscored 12-8 in the first quarter to trail by four, the Lady Indians outscored Nokomis 14-11 in the second quarter and pulled to within a point, 23-22 at halftime. The scoring would slow for Altamont in the beginning of the second half though as they were unable to hit from the floor and instead were held to just four points in the third quarter after going four of six from the free throw line and saw their one point deficit turn into a seven point setback, 33-26, as they started the fourth quarter. Altamont just outscored the Redskins 11-10 in the quarter but were unable to cut into the Nokomis lead any more as they took the 43-37 loss. The Lady Indians drop to .500 on the season, now at 4-4, and will have just today off before they return to action at home on Saturday as they are set to host Greenville for a 11:00am matchup.
