Mulberry Grove Falls to Lebanon in Pool Play of Own Thanksgiving Tournament


Mulberry Grove saw just three players get into the scoring column as they suffered a 55-39 loss to Lebanon in their second game of pool play at their own Mulberry Grove Thanksgiving Tournament on Wednesday. The Aces were held to 10 points in the first quarter on four field goals, trailing 17-10, heading into the second quarter. Mulberry Grove was able to slow down Lebanon’s leading scorer in the second quarter and trim their deficit down to three points several times but were outscored 13-10 to trail 30-20 at halftime. Mulberry Grove began to chip away at the Greyhounds lead again in the third quarter and would go on a 12-8 run to cut their deficit down to six points, 38-32, as they moved into the fourth quarter. The Aces were held to just seven points in the final eight minutes of the game though as they couldn’t come back and took the 55-39 loss. The Aces are 0-2 on the season and in the tournament and will play their final pool play game on Friday night at 8:15pm when they take on St. Elmo-Brownstown.
