The Vandalia Vandals’ offense was held to just 12 points the entire second half, as they fell to the North Clay Cardinals 60-48 in the first game of the 2025 Cumberland Thanksgiving Tournament. Both teams played with pace in the first quarter, but North Clay was able to take advantage of turnovers, taking a 17-13 lead after one. Vandalia was able to pick up its offense in the second, outscoring the Cardinals 23-18, highlighted by 8 points from Lucas Bowers, and 7 points from Andrew Casey, and the Vandals took a 36-35 lead into halftime. North Clay would start the second half on a 19-6 run to take a 54-42 lead after 3 quarters, and the Vandals couldn’t keep up, being held to just 6 points once again, as they would fall in their season opener 60-48. The Vandals fall to 0-1 on the season. The Vandals will be back in action on Friday at the Cumberland Thanksgiving Tournament at 4:30 pm when they will take on Marshall.
