St. Elmo-Brownstown had to hold off a much improved Lebanon team in the first half, but open things up in the second half for a 74-55 win on Monday to open play at the Mulberry Grove Thanksgiving Tournament. The Eagles were able to get out to a 20-12 first quarter lead and opened up a double digit lead, 38-21, in the second quarter before a late 10-0 run in the quarter by the Greyhounds cut the SEB lead back down to single digits as they went into halftime up just 38-31. The Eagles were able to extend their lead out to 59-47 at the end of the third quarter before a 16-8 fourth quarter run put the game out of reach and closed out the 74-55 win for SEB to start the season. The 1-0 Eagles will get tonight off from the tournament before returning to action Wednesday night to take on Father McGivney at 5:15pm.
