The state series for IHSA volleyball is all set with postseason seeds, brackets and schedules released at the end of last week.
In Class 2A, Vandalia is a #10 seed and will go to the Effingham after the Hearts were dropped down a class this year in volleyball and are hosting the Effingham 2A Regional. Vandalia will take on #7 seed Teutopolis at 6:00pm on Monday, October 27 in the only quarterfinal game of the Regional with the winner taking on #2 seed Pinckneyville in the first semifinal game at 6:00pm on Tuesday, October 28. The Championship game will then be played on Thursday, October 30.
In Class 1A, St. Elmo-Brownstown is the highest seeded I70Sports area team as a #4 seed and will host their own Regional with #6 Altamont, #7 South Central, #10 Mulberry Grove and #11 Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City all playing at St. Elmo High School. South Central will face Mulberry Grove at 7:00pm on Monday, October 27 in the second quarterfinal game while on Tuesday, October 28, SEB faces Patoka at 6:00pm and Altamont takes on CHBC at 7:00pm in the final two quarterfinal games. Semifinals will then be held on Wednesday, October 29 with the Championship game on Thursday, October 30.
Unlike the five other Class 1A teams in the I70Sports coverage area, Ramsey and Dieterich will be going to the Nokomis 1A Regional. The #9 seed Lady Rams will face #8 seed Christ Our Rock Lutheran on Monday, October 27 at 6:00pm in the first quarterfinal game while #13 seed Dieterich will take on #3 seed Carlyle at 6:00pm on Tuesday, October 28 in the second quarterfinal game. Semifinals will then be held on Wednesday, October 29 with the Championship game on Thursday, October 30.
