Altamont Indians soccer got a much needed rest break last week after three busy weeks to start the season and came back to start the second half of the season with a 6-1 win over Greenville at home on Saturday. The Indians scored early in the game as Cooper Pals netted a goal with Kaleb Overton on the assist to put Altamont up 1-0 and Aiden Rosales would score midway through the first half to put the Indians up 2-0. Greenville scored on a corner kick to cut the Altamont lead in half, 2-1, and that would be the score at the halftime break. The Indians picked up the offensive pace in the second half, again coming out quick, and scored three goals within the first 12 minutes as Cooper Pals picked up his second and third goals of the game and Aiden Rosales picked up his second goal to Altamont up 5-1. The Indians put one last goal in with just a couple minutes remaining in the game with Zach Reyes scoring to cap off the 6-1 win for Altamont. The Indians improve to 4-8 on the season and has a three game week ahead as they host St. Anthony on Tuesday and Robinson on Thursday before traveling to Mattoon on Saturday morning.
