The Altamont Indians kicked off the weekend with a National Trail Conference win on Friday night before suffering three straight losses on Saturday and Monday. The Indians picked up a 4-1 win over Windsor/Stew-Stras on Friday night on the road as they improved to 2-0 in the NTC and to 2-0 on the season. After a quick trip home to sleep, Altamont returned to Windsor for another matchup with the Hatchets, this one being non-conference action, and took a close 9-8 loss, their first loss on the season. After just a day off on Sunday, the Indians were back on the road for a doubleheader at Teutopolis. The Indians fell behind early, 2-0, but pulled to within a run 2-1 in the third inning and trailed 4-1 heading into the top of the seventh inning. A pair of runs on a Wooden Shoes error and a RBI single by Brayden Elam pulled the Indians to within a run again, 4-3, but a popout would end the game with the tough one run loss for Altamont. In the second game of the doubleheader, T-Town took an early 3-0 lead but the Indians put up a run in the third inning and two more in the fourth to tie the game up 3-3. However, the Wooden Shoes bust the game open in the bottom of the fifth inning, putting ten runs up on the scoreboard in the inning to trigger the run rule and hand the Indians the 13-3 loss. Altamont drops to 2-3 on the season and will be back at home today to host North Clay in another NTC game.
