Altamont soccer suffered a tough loss, 5-0, as they opened up their 2025 season on the road at Hillsboro. The Hiltoppers scored early in the match as they converted a penalty shot after an Altamont player received a red card and automatic ejection for an intentional handball in the penalty box meaning the Indians played the remainder of the game with just 10 players on the field Hillsboro scored one more goal in the first half as Altamont trailed 2-0 at halftime. The Indians unfortunately were unable to put a stop to the Hillsboro offense, giving up three goals in the second half and taking the 5-0 loss. In the JV game, the Indians grabbed 3-1 win getting a pair of goals from Micah Tenpenny and another goal from Landen Parker. The Indians will be back in action on Wednesday when they play their first two games at the Charleston Red/Gold Tournament, facing Effingham at 4:30pm and then taking on Newton at 6:00pm.
