South Central Falls at Woodlawn

South Central baseball suffered a 4-1 loss on the road at Woodlawn on Saturday. After two scoreless innings to start the game, the Cardinals put up four runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 4-0 lead over the Cougars. South Central was able to bring in a run in the top of the fourth inning as Hudson Moore walked and Aiden Hoover followed with a single to put runners at first and second. A sacrifice by Sebastian Kruger advanced the runners to second and third before a balk allowed Moore to come home from third and cut the Woodlawn lead to 4-1. A pick off at third base would end the inning and the Cougars scoring threat though. That would be it for scoring in the game as both teams were held scoreless over the final three innings of the game as Woodlawn topped South Central 4-1. The Cougars drop to 0-2 to start the season and will have their home opener on Tuesday when they take on Brownstown-St. Elmo in a National Trail Conference matchup.
