Mulberry Grove Shuts Out CHBC Behind Johnson's Dominating Performance


Mulberry Grove softball racked up 16 hits and pitcher Lily Johnson gave up just one hit in the circle while tallying 4 RBI at the plate as the Lady Aces shut out CHBC 13 to 0 on Tuesday. Mulberry Grove put up two first inning runs and added one more in each of the third, fourth and sixth innings to take a 5-0 lead. The Aces bust the game open in the seventh inning with seven hits, a pair of drawn walks and using two CHBC errors to score eight runs for a 13-0 lead. CHBC would ground out twice and fly out in the bottom half of the inning as the Lady Aces finished off the 13-0 win. Along with Lily Johnson’s four RBI, Lola Johnson drove in three runs for Mulberry Grove and Taylor Stone was 4 for 5 at the plate for the day. The Lady Aces are now 11-5 on the season and will take on Altamont today.
