One of the longest running boys basketball conference tournaments in the state opens up play tonight at Altamont High School with one preliminary game on tap for the evening. Eighth-seeded Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City will take on #9 seed Neoga with the winner earning a spot in the quarterfinals where that team will take on #1 seed St. Anthony on Tuesday night. The loser of the game will go into the Consolation side of the bracket where they will be in an elimination game against the loser of the quarterfinal matchup between #2 seed Dieterich and #7 seed St. Elmo-Brownstown. The tournament will run every night between now and Saturday with the place games taking place on Saturday afternoon and the Championship game will be Saturday night.
