Lady Comets Varsity Wins, JV Loses at Lebanon Girls Holiday Tournament

The second-seeded Lady Comets dominated their first round game at the Lebanon Girls Holiday Tournament, beating #15 seed Steeleville 65-6.

Greenville allowed just 3 points to the Braves in the first half and three more in the third quarter before shutting out Steeleville in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Comets had 10 girls in the scoring column and were led by Rylee Pickett with 18 points, 13 of those coming in the first quarter.

Other scoring for the Lady Comets: Gwyn Mitchell 9 points, Paige Roberts 8 points, Megan Halleman 7 points, Danielle Brand and Lilly Funneman 6 points each, Natalie Iberg 5 points, Hannah Simpson, Brooklyn Suzuki and Abby Sussenbach all had 2 points each.

The Greenville Varsity Lady Comets will move into the championship side of the bracket and will face Gateway Legacy at 6:30pm on Friday evening.

Also at the tournament, the Greenville JV Comets, seeded #16, fell to top-seeded Father McGivney 39-11.

The Greenville JV Comets will now play at 9:30am on Friday morning in the consolation side of the bracket.
