Lady Comets Use Late Run to Beat Southwestern 42-34

After trailing by one at the half and by two points heading into the 4th quarter, the Greenville Lady Comets used a 9-3 run to open the fourth, take a late lead and push their way to a 42-34 win over Southwestern on Monday afternoon. The matinee game was a make-up from last week when games all around the area were canceled due to weather.

 

For Greenville:

Rylee Pickett – 12 points

Natalie Iberg – 11 points

Megan Halleman – 9 points

Hannah Simpson – 4 points

Abby Sussenbach – 4 points

Danielle Brand – 2 points

 

The Lady Comets are now 6-5 on the season. They will begin play in the Lebanon Girls Holiday Tournament on Thursday as the #2 seed and will take on #15 seed Steeleville at 2pm.

 

In JV action on Monday, Greenville got the 30-25 win as they are now 2-5 on the season. Greenville JV will also compete in the Lebanon Tournament. They are the #16 seed and will face #1 seed Father McGivney on Thursday at 3:30pm.
