Vandalia baseball was held to just one run on two hits in a 13-1 non-conference loss at Litchfield on Thursday. The Vandals trailed the Purple Panthers 5-0 before scoring their first run of the game. Carson Lotz roped a one out double to center field and advanced to third during Andrew Casey’s at bat and was then brought in on a line drive single by Casey to cut it to 5-1. Litchfield would go on to score four runs in the bottom of the fourth and another four in the sixth to close out the 13-1 win over the Vandals. Vandalia falls to 11-14 on the season and will have a chance at a rematch today as Litchfield come to Vandalia for their official South Central Conference matchup.
