The Vandal Sports Boosters organization is making some major contributions in a variety of areas and projects.
First, the Sports Boosters gave out eight scholarships to 2023 graduates at $500 each.
The Sports Boosters will also donate $3,500 to the Vandal Cheer Team to be used for competition mats.
The Sports Boosters have also awarded $30,000 to update the Vandal Hitting Shed. This will include insulation for the entire shed area, 2 new batting cage nets, 2 home plate/batter’s box turf combinations and to update the lighting in the shed if needed. The Sports Boosters say this will be a project that will benefit all softball and baseball players and players of all ages in the community.
The Sports Boosters will also donate $25,000 for the the purchase of weight equipment. The funding may be used immediately as part of the Phase 1 project of the “Forging Our Future” campaign. The Sports Boosters add this will benefit all male and females athletes at VCHS.
The Sports Boosters will also donate $25,000 to be used for the Phase 2 of the “Forging our Future” project. That will be $5,000 per year for 5 years starting in the 2023-24 school year and ending with the 2027-28 school year.
