SEB Beats Edinburg on the Road for Fourth Straight Win


St. Elmo-Brownstown boys basketball continued their strong January on Wednesday, getting a road win over Edinburg, 64-58, on Wednesday night. After jumping ahead 20-15 in the first quarter, the Eagles would only be able to outscore the Wildcats 14-13 in the second quarter for a 34-28 lead at halftime. SEB would come out in the second half and take a 19-14 scoring advantage in the third quarter to push their lead out to 11 points, 53-42, heading into the fourth quarter. Edinburg would take a shot at a comeback, with an 16-11 run over the last eight minutes, but SEB would hold on for the 64-58 win. Wednesday’s win marks four straight wins for the Eagles, three of those coming on the road, as SEB is 4-0 in the month of January and now 11-5 overall on the season. They now have a stretch of three Egyptian Illini Conference games coming up, starting with Patoka-Odin at home on Friday night.
