The Vandalia boys golf team advanced three of its team members to the Sectional Tournament following their finishes at the Alton Marquette Regional on Monday.
The Vandals finished 5th as a team with a score of 360, just 13 strokes behind 3rd place Waterloo Gibault, who along with Hillsboro and Belleville Althoff Catholic will advance their full team to Sectionals for being the top three team finishers
Individually for the Vandals, sophomore Chase Laack tied for 6th place with a score of 80, while sophomore Jacob Schaal shot a 86 and Riley Ruckman shot a 94. Laack, Schaal and Ruckman were among the top 10 individuals who were not part of an advancing team so they all advance to the Sectionals next Monday at Franklin County Country Club.
