Comets (5-0) at Pana (5-0), 7 pm
It will certainly be the “Game of the Week” in the South Central Conference, but also one of the top games in the regional this Friday night as the Comets will head to Pana to take on the undefeated Panthers—with both teams putting 5-0 records on the line.
The Comets are coming off a 21 to 13 win over a feisty Roxana Shells team to improve to 5-0. The Comets ground game continued to be solid as Jack Woods ran for 128 yards and all 3 TDs. Wil Harnetiaux was very efficient for the Comets completing 13 of his 17 passing attempts. Greenville’s defense continued to be strong—they have allowed just 12.2 points per game this season.
As for Pana, they are coming off a 41 to 6 win over Piasa SW. Pana Senior QB Jonah Lauff had a huge game against the Piasa Birds, as he was 19 of 24 for 368 yards and 3 TDs in the win. Pana is second in the SCC averaging exactly 40 points per game.
