
Week 3-Comets (2-0) at Carlinville (1-1)–7 pm
The Comets are coming off a 21 to 6 win over Piasa SW on the road, while Carlinville lost at home to the Vandals, 48 to 7.
For the Comets, they have been especially strong running the football thru the first 2 weeks of the season. In their week 2 win, Jack Woods had 30 carriers and ran for 224 yards. For Carlinville, Colton DeLong has led their offense in rushing with 181 yards thru 2 weeks–but only 42 yards in their Week 2 loss.
The Comets defense has been especially tough, as the Comets have allowed only 6 points thru the first weeks.
It’s the second straight game on the road for the Comets, and the 2nd straight game at home for the Cavaliers. The Comets are back at Don Stout Field next Friday night for homecoming versus Hillsboro.
