>>MLB Draft Wraps Up

(Secaucus, NJ)  —  The MLB Draft is in the books.  The league wrapped up the two-day event yesterday with the final four rounds.  The Tampa Bay Rays kicked off day two by selecting Ohio State catcher Dillon Dingler with the 38th overall pick in round two.  The final pick was UC San Diego shortstop Shay Whitcomb, who was picked by the Astros.

>>Cora Says Astros’ Scandal Was More Than Him, Beltran

(Undated)  —  Former Boston Red Sox manager and Astros bench coach Alex Cora says Houston’s sign-stealing scandal was more than him and DH Carlos Beltran.  Cora tells ESPN he accepts responsibility for his role, but it wasn’t a two-man show.  The scandal cost Beltran his first managerial job with the Mets.

>>NFL Pledges $250M To Combat Racism

(New York, NY)  —  The NFL is flexing its financial muscle to help stamp out racism.  After publicly affirming the Black Lives Matter movement this week, the league is now pledging 250-million-dollars to help the fight against systemic racism.  This expands on the previous agreement with the Players Coalition.

>>NBA Bubble To Thin Out Quickly

(Undated)  —  The NBA’s Orlando bubble may not be crowded for too long.  Under the league’s restart schedule, ESPN reports 14 of the 22 teams will be eliminated within 53 days of arriving.  There will be just four teams remaining after 67 days.

>>NHL Targets July 10th To Reopen Training Camps

(New York, NY)  —  The NHL is targeting July 10th for the 24 teams resuming play to formally begin training camp.  It still must be under the approval of local health authorities.  The league reopened training facilities this week for small group workouts.  The NHL postseason tournament will start in August.
