Report: Union Wants More MLB Games, No More Salary Cuts

/ I70Sports

(Undated) – The Players Association proposed a 114-game schedule with no additional salary cuts, Evan Drellich of The Athletic reported last night.  There would be 100-million dollars of deferred money if the 2020 postseason is canceled.  It would also include two years of expanded post-season and an opt out for players if they don’t want to play because of coronavirus concerns.  Players at ‘high risk’ would receive full salary and service time, while others could opt out but won’t be paid.  The owners had proposed an 82-game schedule with a sliding pay scale cut of salaries.
