Jets sign former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco

/ I70Sports

The Jets have signed former Super Bowl MVP quarterback Joe Flacco,
who becomes the favorite to win the backup job behind Sam Darnold.
The deal’s base salary is $1.5 million but includes up to $3
million extra in incentives. Flacco, who spent last season in
Denver, is still recovering from neck surgery, which limited him to
eight games in 2019. Flacco’s 2018 season with the Ravens was cut
short by a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee. The 35-year-old
quarterback played his first 11 seasons for Baltimore, never making
a Pro Bowl but starting in 15 playoff games. His 11 touchdown
passes in the 2012 postseason are tied for the most ever, and he
posted an MVP performance – 287 yards and three scores – in a Super
Bowl XLVII victory.
