Former SEB Cheerleader Now A National Champion with McKendree University

Former SEB and current McKendree University Cheerleader Kairi Speagle is now a Collegiate National Champion. Speagle, a sophomore at McKendree, and her Bearcats teammates on the Advanced Large Coed team claimed the National Championship title for Division II at the National Cheerleading Association College Nationals in Daytona Beach. The Bearcats sat in second place after the Preliminary Round on Thursday with just half a point separating them and Montclair State University after McKendree was hit with six points deduction in the round. The Bearcats bounced back in a big way in Friday’s Finals though and pulled into the top spot by over three points for the title. It was a history making weekend all around for McKendree as along with Speagle’s Large Coed team, the Bearcats Advanced Small Coed Division II Team also claimed the National Championship in their division and the Intermediate Coed Division II Team took second place.
