BSE beats Ramsey in Friday baseball action


The Brownstown/St. Elmo Bombers jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and never looked back, coming away with a 12-0 win over the Ramsey-Mulberry Grove on Friday. The Bombers opened up the scoring in the top of the first inning when Logan Lach reached on an error, allowing Keelan Speagle to score giving BSE a 1-0 lead. A pair of groundouts from Zayden Gillespie and Lucas Powell would score two runs making the score 3-0, before a single from Nolan Wilhour would cap off the scoring giving BSE a 4-0 lead. The Bombers would add on to that lead in the top of the second inning when Lach reached on an error to score Jayce Gillespie, making the lead 5-0. That score would remain until the top of the fourth inning when a groundout from Lach would score Speagle, making the lead 6-0 for BSE. The Bombers would break the game open with a 6-run top of the fifth inning, and would hold the Rams scoreless, coming away with the 12-0 win. The win improves BSE to 3-5 on the season. The Bombers will be back home on Saturday to take on Wayne City. The loss drops Ramsey-Mulberry Grove to 0-8 on the season. The Rams will be on the road on Monday to take on CHBC.
