Altamont Shuts Out Vandals


The Altamont Indians used a 2-run fourth inning and a complete game shutout from Kaiden Wolff to come away with a 2-0 win over the Vandalia Vandals on Thursday. After three scoreless innings, the Indians would break the tie in the top of the fourth inning when Zaine Miller and Brayden Elam reached on walks. Carson Milleville would reach on an error, allowing Miller to score, and giving Altamont a 1-0 lead. Parker Bell would then single to bring home Elam and make the score 2-0. Wolff would proceed to hold the Vandals to just two hits on the afternoon, a single from Trenton Smith and a single from Andrew Casey, but Vandalia wouldn’t be able to push across any runs, falling to the Indians 2-0. The win improves the Indians to 5-4 on the season. Altamont will be back at home on Monday to take on Neoga. The loss drops the Vandals to 7-4 on the year. Vandalia will open SCC play on Friday when they host Gillespie.
