The South Central Cougars’ offense could not keep up with St. Anthony, falling to the Bulldogs 11-1 on Wednesday. The Bulldogs would put up three runs in the bottom of the first inning, and added one in the bottom of the second to take an early 4-0 lead. The Cougars would get their lone run on the board in the top of the third inning when Hudson Moore reached on a one-out walk, and would come around to score on a single from Luke Shumate to cut the deficit to 4-1. The Bulldogs would respond by scoring one run in the third, before breaking the game open in the bottom of the fourth by scoring 5 runs to extend their lead to 10-1, before scoring one more run in the fifth to put the game away 11-1. The loss drops South Central to 2-5 on the season. The Cougars will be back home on Friday to take on Carlyle.
