The South Central Lady Cougars suffered their first NTC loss this season on Monday, falling to the Windsor/Stew-Stras Lady Hatchets 8-1. After 3 and a half scoreless innings, the Lady Hatchets broke through in the bottom of the fourth inning, putting up two runs to take a 2-0 lead. The Lady Cougars would get a run back in the bottom of the fifth inning, when Maddie Peddicord reached on an error, allowing Annie Ruholl to score to cut the deficit to 2-1. WSS would break the game open in the bottom of the fifth, putting up five runs, before adding a pair of insurance runs in the sixth inning to come away with the 8-1 win. The loss drops South Central to 5-3 on the season, and 1-1 in NTC play. The Lady Cougars will be back at home on Tuesday to take on Altamont.
