The Altamont Indians got down early and could not come back, falling to the Newton Eagles 13-5 on Monday. Newton would get on the board in the top of the third inning, scoring a pair of runs to take a 2-0 lead. The Eagles would add three runs in the fifth inning to make the game 5-0, before the Indians would get on the board with a pair of sacrifice flies from Carson Milleville and Parker Bell to cut the deficit to 5-2. Newton would break the game open by scoring three runs in the 6th and five in the 7th. Altamont would attempt to get back in the game with a 2-run 6th and adding one in the seventh, but it was too little too late, falling to Newton 13-5. The loss drops the Indians to 3-4 on the season. Altamont will be on the road on Tuesday to take on BSE.
