The Vandalia Vandals got down 5 runs in the first two innings, and could not recover, falling to the Father McGivney Griffins 13-1 on Tuesday afternoon. Father McGivney scored 2 runs in the third inning and 3 runs in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead. The Vandals would get their lone run in the top of the third inning, when Jack Lewis tripled, and would come around to score on a sacrifice fly from Andrew Casey to cut the deficit to 5-1. That score would hold until the bottom of the fourth when the Griffins would tack on one run in the fourth and 7 in the fifth, to come away with the 13-1 win. The loss drops the Vandals to 5-3 on the season. The Vandals will be off until Monday, when host CHBC.
