CHBC softball opened their 2026 season on the road Monday and fell to Nokomis 14-4. The Lady Bobcats started the scoring in the top of the first taking a 1-0 lead but Nokomis countered with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the 2-1 lead and extended it to 5-1 with a three-run second inning. CHBC pulled to within a run of the Redskins after putting up three runs in the top of the third inning to cut it to 5-4. Nokomis again responded with two runs to push their lead back out to three runs, 7-4. After a scoreless fourth inning by both teams, Nokomis put up four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to extend their lead to 11-4. CHBC struggled to score late and another three runs by Nokomis in the bottom of the sixth made it 14-4 as CHBC was handed the six inning loss. The Bobcats start the season at 0-1 and will be off until March 20 when they take on newton on the road.
