VCHS Grad Philpot Off to a Strong Start With UMSL


VCHS grad Gracie Philpot is off to a solid start in her first season at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Philpot made the move to UMSL after her two years at Kaskaskia College and has started in all 18 games this season for the Tritons. Philpot is batting .300 with an .855 on base percentage and leads the team in RBI with 12 and in stolen bases with five. In the field, Philpot has been patrolling the outfield with a .900 fielding percentage and 18 putouts in 20 opportunities. The Tritons are 6-12 on the season and went 2-3 this past weekend at Oasis Sports Complex in Marion. They will be back at home in St. Louis this weekend when they face Purdue Northwest in a Saturday doubleheader at 2:00pm and 4:15pm and then take on Parkside in a Sunday doubleheader at Noon and 2:15pm.
