VCHS Grad, NIU Golfer Conner McCall Named MAC Golfer of the Week

Vandalia High School grad and Northern Illinois University sophomore golfer Conner McCall earned Mid-American Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week honors as announced on Friday. The Huskies got the Spring portion of their 2025-2026 season underway this past week at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational in Henderson, Nevada and McCall opened play on Monday going two under par with a 70 for the first round. He would shoot an even par 72 on Tuesday and then went five under with a 67, his career best, on Wednesday to finish in a tie for 6^th place, his best career finish for the Huskies. NIU finished in a tie for third in the team standings with a score of 11 under par 277. For his efforts, McCall has been named the MAC Men’s Golfer of the Week for the first time. It is McCall’s first time for the honor and he is the third Huskie this season to earn the recognition. McCall and the Huskies will be back in action March 13-15 at the Schenkel Invitational hosted by Georgia Southern at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Georgia.
