Three Vandals wrestlers will wrestle in the Championships of their respective weight classes at the IHSA Individual Wrestling State Finals while two more have guaranteed themselves a top 6 finish and one more will wrestle this morning to try and earn a spot in a place match. Preston Waughtel at 126, Max Philpot at 132 and Dillon Hinton at 157 all picked up wins in the Championship Semifinals on Friday night to earn spots in the Championships. Dade Kleinik at 150 and Ross Miller at 190 both suffered semifinal losses, but they have guaranteed themselves spots in a place match, but whether they will wrestle in the Third Place of Fifth Place match will be dictated by a Wrestleback Semifinal match this morning. Brody Matthews at 138 is still alive for the Vandals and after working through the early wrestleback rounds, is one win away from guaranteeing himself a top 6 finish as he will need to get a win in the Wrestleback Quarterfinals this morning.
